King Size Beds

There’s nothing like a king size bed to make a statement for your master suite. Not every room can carry it off, of course, because you need enough space to include the bed and all of the other pieces you will add to the design. But as long as you have sufficient space in your room, king sized beds certainly make a brilliant focal point.  Continued...

Platform beds work quite well in modern bedrooms, where you want clean lines and a simple look. They rest on a storage area or platform upon the floor, which keeps that area free from the dreaded dust bunnies.

Your bedroom will feel more luxurious if you add a king bed to the décor. This bed will give you plenty of room to stretch out and relax, when you sleep. You need a comfortable place to recharge your batteries after a long day, and a king bed makes this easier. If you have ever had trouble falling asleep, or staying asleep, you’ll find that king beds make it less stressful to sleep at night. If you have a partner, his or her movements will not awaken you as easily if you sleep in a king bed.

If you have had small bedrooms in the past, you may not have realized what you were missing, since you didn’t have a king size bed to relax in. There are plenty of traditional style beds that will suit your décor if you don’t have a modern styled bedroom. Sleigh beds and four poster beds have the look of luxury and will welcome you to relax at the end of the day.

In smaller homes, it’s more difficult to include larger beds in your decorating plans, but you can have renovations done that will stretch your master suite into a previously-unused guest bedroom. This will free up space for a king bed and other furnishings, too. A wardrobe is a lovely addition to a room with a king bed, and they can both be elegant additions to your home.

Some king beds, including platform beds, have storage space underneath, and that makes them more popular, since storage space is a valuable part of your room. Storage space is almost always at a premium. Adding a dresser, you’ll be able to fit most of your folding clothes in these two areas, leaving plenty of closet room for hanging clothes.

If you don’t want a lot of furnishings in your room, you may appreciate the minimalist look of contemporary décor, and you can include a bed along with just nightstands and a dresser. A king bed will fit in well with this style, with its sleek finish.

Your king bed will exhibit the style that makes it a natural focal point in your room. A simpler style will add to a modern look, while an ornate traditional bed will give the room a more classic appeal. Add the other pieces that will supplement the style of the bed, and you’ll know the true aesthetic value that a king size bed will give your room.
