Select a mirror for your children that will blend in well with the look and style of other furnishings in their rooms. The woods used don’t need to be exactly the same, but a similar look will lend your children’s rooms some continuity. The frame often is the same type of wood as the dresser, so that it looks like an extension of the dresser. Select a frame that will work well with the look they already like.

Wood framed mirrors are very durable and they can last a long time. Many have lovely tones and hues, and some even have a doll house theme. Select a mirror with your child’s help, if he or she expresses an interest in helping you. Children often take better care of things that they helped to pick out themselves.

There is more to a bedroom mirror than just a way to check how you look. Many children won’t care as much as adults do. The mirrors you use in a bedroom also help the room to appear larger than it is, which opens up the space. Simple frames with rectangular shapes are very basic, yet they add so much to the room. Some childrens bedroom mirrors also have different shapes and punch-outs, so that they give the room a look that is more suited to children.

Most of the mirrors you will see when shopping for your child will be wood-framed, since these are sturdy and strong. Be sure that your children are old enough to have a mirror in their room, since they can break if misused. They are generally set up high enough on dressers that this should not be a problem, though.

Little girls might like to play dress up in front of a mirror, and a mirror on a vanity may be low enough that they can do so more easily. Kids don’t have the need of a full-length mirror, like adults do, very often, but mirrors on vanities or dressers will give them that quick glance that they may need.

Select a mirror that goes well with the dresser upon which it will be set up. Whether it has ornate carvings or a simple square or rectangular shape, it will serve to decorate a special part of your child’s room. These mirrors don’t need the type of space afforded to full-length mirrors in adult bedrooms; their designs lend themselves well to perching on top of low dressers.

When you shop with your children for mirrors, they will be able to let you know which type they think will work the best for them. There are more models than you would imagine, of childrens bedroom mirrors, and one of them will be perfect for your child.
